It has been a while, but there were more pressing matters that needed attention (NSERC funding application and lots of manuscript writing).
Spring and Summer, as always were productive times for research.
Having received a FST summer research assistantship, Fred worked on the characterization of various devices, something that was a feature of an article with Dr. Nedelcu and her colleagues earlier this year (link here). The follow up to this work will come from Fred's work over the Summer.
Declyn also received a FST summer research assistantship. Along with the Mitacs-Globalink student Edgar, they worked on finalizing the methodology for derivatizing cannabinoids. This holds real promise and with some refinement, will be the focus of an upcoming manuscript - heading to a natural products journal!
Edgar enjoyed his time in Canada, sharing some pictures above, he then headed back to Mexico in August. Keep in touch! We benefited greatly from your productive work at MRU!
Fred, along with Ethan Williams (another of Dr. Nedelcu's students) were part of a conference show casing their work. The conference, SISOM 2025 was held with online features, which means their presentations are freely available! See the links here: Fred & Ethan.
Myself and Kieran, and along with collaborators at the University of Lethbridge, finalized our Acta Cryst Section E paper and were finally able to see the ligand and complexation work published! See the paper here.
Obviously some very productive research; looking forward to the rest of the Fall semester, the follow-up manuscripts to all the work we've done, and Pacifichem this December!
